13 revenue drivers to use this fall

Fall is one of the biggest revenue opportunities of the year for high volume photography studios. We’re making it easier to maximize the season with 13 ways to quickly optimize your business.
Use the Fall Revenue Playbook to check off what you already have in place, spot opportunities you may be missing, and get step-by-step instructions for putting each revenue driver to work.
Keep marketing working beyond launch
1. Optimize your initial marketing campaigns
Start with the campaigns families receive when photos become available.
Review the offer, audience and timing for each launch campaign, and make sure every campaign is attached to the right jobs.
2. Build remarketing into your plan
Not every family purchases the first time they see a gallery.
Remarketing gives you more opportunities to bring those families back. One studio featured in our Fall Revenue Playbook generated more than 7% revenue growth from remarketing campaigns.
3. Put abandoned cart campaigns to work
Someone who adds products to their cart has already shown strong purchase intent. Don’t let that interest disappear.
Captura abandoned cart campaigns average $3+ in revenue per recipient and can be automatically attached to jobs, allowing cart recovery to keep working without requiring your team to manually send another campaign.
4. Give your team control of marketing
Fall moves quickly. Offers change. Deadlines move closer. New opportunities come up.
Giving the right team members self-service marketing permissions means they can update offers and codes, change copy and subject lines, swap graphics, and make other campaign adjustments as the season unfolds.
Make The Shop work harder
5. Use badges and strike-through pricing
Badges such as “Best Seller” or “On Sale” can help guide shoppers toward specific products, while strike-through pricing lets them see the value of a promotion at a glance.
Captura data shows a 30% revenue lift when badges, strike-through pricing, and promotional banners are used together.
6. Set a free shipping threshold
Free shipping doesn’t have to mean giving away shipping on every order.
A minimum-order threshold gives families a reason to add more to their cart to unlock the offer. A progress bar can show shoppers exactly how close they are to qualifying, turning the incentive into a visible goal as they shop.
7. Create locked offers
The same principle can extend beyond shipping.
Locked offers reward shoppers once they reach a defined purchase amount. That creates another reason to build a larger basket while giving the customer something tangible in return.
8. Show products with dynamic images
It’s easier to understand a product when you can picture it with your own photo.
Dynamic images use personalized previews to help families visualize what they’re buying. That can build confidence, support conversion and order value, and reduce the work involved in manually creating previews.
9. Consider service fees
Revenue growth isn’t only about selling another product. Protecting margin matters, too.
Service fees can help offset fulfillment costs without changing the advertised price of every package. Studios can configure the fee in their cart templates and apply it to the galleries where it makes sense.
10. Offer Affirm
For larger purchases, the total price can become a barrier.
Pay-over-time options through Affirm give families another way to approach that purchase. In Captura data, customers using Affirm have an average order value more than 50% higher than customers who don’t.
11. Put the promotion where shoppers can see it
If you’re running an offer, don’t make families hunt for it.
A promotional banner puts the message in The Shop, where it can reinforce the offer while a customer is actively considering a purchase.
12. Add custom digital downloads
Digital products can create an additional revenue stream without lab fulfillment costs.
With Designer, studios can create personalized products such as collages, graduation announcements, trading cards, and seasonal cards, then offer them as digital downloads.
13. Turn on dynamic watermarks
Your previews need to help families shop without becoming a substitute for purchasing.
Dynamic watermarks add a patterned overlay to existing watermarks and are designed to make AI-assisted watermark removal more difficult.
