Fall-ready: Celebrating everything Captura has shipped in 2026

The fall season demands speed, reliability, and confidence. This year, we didn’t wait for the season to arrive before getting ready.
Our fall build of Captura Workflow is already here.
It’s the culmination of more than a dozen releases delivered throughout 2026: major new experiences, revenue-driving Shop improvements, smarter production tools, stronger image protection, and hundreds of refinements designed to make every day in Workflow smoother.
We’ve moved fast, listened closely, and shipped relentlessly. Now, studios can head into their busiest season with powerful new capabilities already in their hands, and a season-ready build they can rely on.
Introducing the 2026 Fall Release
The new Workflow release is our fall build: a season-ready release created to give studios consistency when it matters most.
Teams can choose between two fully supported release tracks:
Fall Release: Locks in the season ready build and only changes if a critical fix is required, helping teams avoid unexpected updates during their busiest months.
Latest Releases: Continues receiving improvements, fixes, and new features throughout the season.
You can choose the track that works for your studio, and even mix and match across your team. Both tracks will merge into one version at the end of the year.
That means you get the freedom to balance stability and innovation on your terms.

A completely reimagined Designer
One of our biggest achievements this year was launching the new Designer: a more modern, flexible way to build and manage products directly inside Workflow.
Created with studio feedback at its core, Designer brings together:
A refreshed, streamlined workspace
Layers and easier element management
Advanced text styling
Image effects and background editing
Dynamic subject and job data
Flexible image mapping
Preview and print capabilities
Studios can build reusable, personalized products at scale with fewer steps and less reliance on external tools. From prints and ID cards to memory mates, sports products, event graphics, and digital assets, Designer gives teams a stronger creative foundation for the season ahead.

A dedicated Workflow Lab experience
We also launched Workflow Lab as its own application, giving labs a space designed specifically around lab operations.
Separating the studio and lab experiences makes it easier to keep both workflows organized, run them side by side, and deliver future updates on a schedule that better fits each audience.
Workflow Lab has continued evolving too. Labs now have greater control over order data at print time, including the ability to use the latest SKU, Reference ID, and DP2 Layout Filename values while preserving the original order-time data. New Designer order-data fields also make it easier to carry essential information through custom templates, gutters, and routing labels.

New ways to create a better shopping experience
This year’s releases didn’t just improve production, they helped studios create more personal and compelling buying experiences.
Dynamic Display Images
Shoppers can now see their own photograph rendered on eligible prints, products, and packages instead of a generic placeholder. These realistic previews make it easier for families to imagine the finished product before they buy.
Self-Registration
Studios can collect subject details before picture day without requiring an order. Each job receives a unique registration link, and optional custom forms can capture details such as grade, teacher, team, or jersey number.
The result is less friction on picture day, stronger contact data, and more opportunities for future communication and sales.
Smarter selling tools
We also introduced and expanded tools designed to support conversion and average order value, including:
A free-shipping progress bar
Cart recommendations and unlocked offers
Faster product configuration with intelligent default-image selection
Clearer, more consistent product previews
Improved accessibility across Shop controls

Less rework. Faster production. More confidence.
Some of the most valuable improvements this year solve the small, repetitive frustrations that add up across thousands of images and orders.
Quick Reprint
Teams can now create a replacement order in just a few clicks without rebuilding the original purchase from scratch. Relevant order details are carried forward, permitted corrections can be made, and the reprint reason travels with the order for clearer lab processing.
Throughout subsequent releases, we strengthened Quick Reprint to support large and multi-subject orders and improved image, crop, and background selection.
More powerful AI Crop
AI Crop now supports three-quarter and full-body workflows, making automated cropping more useful for seniors, sports, and other varied poses. Ratio-based setup, pose previews, and optional advanced controls give studios a faster path to consistent results.

Faster ways to find and manage work
We expanded job filters, added saved filter combinations, improved subject search, introduced one-click ID copying, enabled column organization in Sheet View, and added direct links between related records.
These improvements may sound small individually. Together, they mean fewer interruptions, less backtracking, and more time focused on moving jobs forward.
Stronger protection for studio images
Protecting a studio’s work remains a priority.
This year, we added Dynamic Watermarks that can be layered with existing watermarking and introduced additional safeguards against desktop screenshots. These tools make clean image extraction more difficult while still giving shoppers a clear preview of what they can purchase.

The features are big. The foundation is even bigger.
Alongside every headline launch, we continued improving reliability across Workflow, Designer, Workflow Lab, and the Shop.
We strengthened digital downloads, direct printing, exports, order rendering, syncing, product rotation, PDF generation, drag-and-drop image uploads, marketing previews, background selection, product configuration, and fulfillment data.
That work matters. A powerful new feature is only valuable if teams can trust the experience around it—especially during the fall season.
Built with our customers, ready for the season
Every release this year has been shaped by customer conversations, early-access testing, support feedback, and the real-world needs of studios and labs.
You told us where work felt slow. Where the experience felt disconnected. Where greater flexibility could save hours or create new revenue opportunities.
We listened, and we shipped.
With the fall build already released, teams have time to explore what’s new, prepare their workflows, and move into the season with confidence.
This is what we’ve accomplished together in 2026 so far. And we’re not finished yet.
